THE CLOSING CEREMONY FOR FELLOW’S AGENDA IN THE SCHOOL YEAR 2014 – 2015
On July 17, 2015, Bac Lieu University (BLU) formally celebrated the closing ceremony for fellow’s agenda. This is the first time English Language Fellow Program has dispatched fellows to BLU. The ceremony had its honors with the attention of
1. Dr. Tran Van Chieu – Rector of BLU
2. Ms. To Viet Thu – Chief of International Cooperation Department
3. Ms. Huynh Hong Hoa – Vice Head of Foreign Language Division – Education Department
4. Ms. Catherine Bolster – US Fellow
5. Mr. Abdul Rahim – Brunei Fellow

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. To Viet Thu summarized the fellow’s contributions during a nine-month working agenda. Under the fellow’s teaching in professional activities and extracurricular activities, students were confident to communicate in English and enlarged their knowledge. In addition, the fellow participated in colloquiums and workshops on Action Research and supported the lecturers and teachers from local high schools, colleges, university in doing researches.
In this event, on behalf of English Division, Ms. Huynh Hong Hoa - Vice Head of Foreign Language Division appreciated the noticeable achievements that the fellow attained. She is impressed by what the fellow did to improve students’ English proficiency and enhance methodology which meets the requirements of the National Foreign Language Project 2020.
After that, Tran Tuyet Hoa, a representative student expressed her deep gratitude to the fellow for supporting students to improve English skills as well as chances to understand more about international cultures. She treated the students as relatives in a family and had no complain to guide the students whenever they got difficulties.
Ms. Catherine Bolster gave her opinions about her precious experience of working and her unforgettable memories of extra-curricular activities during a nine-month working agenda at BLU. She said that the memories that she got from lecturers, officers and students of BLU were very excited and she would never forget them. She also showed her thankfulness to the leaders, teachers, officers and students of BLU who gave her good conditions for living and working in the university during her working time. She was pleased and happy to contribute a part of the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the U.S and Vietnam.
On behalf of the university, Dr. Tran Van Chieu – Rector of BLU thanked Ms Catherine for her contribution in BLU. Ms. Catherine – an American Fellow is in charge of not only teaching students, but also helping teachers improve their professional capability and scientific research. He also conveyed his sincere thanks to English Language Fellow Program, the U.S Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh city, the U.S Embassy in Viet Nam and hoped that BLU will continue receiving more cooperation and supports from the program.
It is more significant in the modern context of comprehensive and strong development of the Vietnam-American cooperation, marking the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the United States and Vietnam.
