On the afternoon of July 31st , 2023, Bac Lieu University solemnly held an Summing up and prize awarding ceremony of the first "Students with start-up ideas - Innovation"contest in 2023. The organization board warmly welcomed Dr. Ngo Duc Luu - Secretary of the Communist Party, Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Tien Hai Ly - Vice President, Head of the Competition Organizing Committee; Dr. Nguyen Xuan Khoa - Vice Chairman of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Bac Lieu province; MSc Huynh Hung Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Dr. Pham Thi Nha Truc - Vice President of Bac Lieu Medical College; Leaders of affiliated department; Lecturers of the Competition Organizing Committee, lecturers and competitors.
Class 15DQT1’s students of Economics Faculty reported their ideas "Model of building BALI salt field tourist area in Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu province"
At the conference, MSc Pham Dinh Tri - Deputy Head of Scientific Management and International Relations Department, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, reported briefly the results of the competition. Accordingly, the contest took place in 3 rounds with participated by nearly 50 proposed ideas group. The Semi-final round held on June 6th, 2023 had 33 ideas reported, the Organizing Board selected 10 good and unique ideas to compete in the final round.
In addition, the Organizing Board launched an online voting round from June 26th -30th, 2023. The competed teams have designed their posters with summary ideas by the Canvas model. The organizers posted their ideas on the Bac Lieu University fanpage to conduct the voting. Accordingly, the score is counted by 01like/01point/01account, 01 share/02points/01account. As a result, the ideas had 2706 likes and 1093 shares, of which the idea received the highest votes with 238 shares and 1298 likes.
On July 31st, 2023, the final round of 10 ranked ideas will be held. Participated teams will present reports in a direct form on the topic/idea for 07 minutes and the jury will have 07 minutes to ask questions. The presentation included a slideshow, including 02 actual products and 02 models, accompanied by 10 posters summarizing the ideas.
The organizing board awarded 11 prizes including:
+ 01 FIRST prize including a certificate from the Organizing Board and a bonus of 3,000,000 VND belonging to the idea "Model of building a BALI salt field tourist area in Dong Hai district, Bac Lieu province" won by the team of 15DQT1 students - Faculty of Economics.
+ 01 SECOND PRIZE including a certificate and a bonus of 2,000,000 VND belonging to the idea "Raising field eels (Monopterus albus) combined with growing leafy vegetables using hydroponics method (aquaponics)" won by the team of 15DNTCNC student - Faculty of Agriculture.
+ 02 Third prizes including certificates and bonuses of 1,000,000 VND/prize belonging to the idea "Raising black soldier flies as a food source for swiftlets and pets" won by the team of 15DCN students - Faculty of Agriculture.
And Team 15DSSPH students - Faculty of Education with the idea of "High School Biology website"

After more than 3 months of implementation, the first "Students with Start-up Ideas - Innovation" contest in 2023 was succesfully ended. The competition has become an academics, scientific research and innovation playground, attracting a large number of students, lecturers and enterprises to participate, compete together to create innovative products, feasible ideas and projects as well as create motivation to boost the spirit, study and practice for BLU’s students. This is also one of the key activities, aiming to build solutions to create a favorable environment to promote and support the process of forming and developing innovative start-up activities of students during the school year 2023 - 2024.
